  • Number of keywords: the number of keywords to display on page. Ten keywords are displayed by default, but you can increase this number up to 200 keywords per page.
  • Ranked: filters keywords based on their last rank. By default, all keywords are included.

Once you have made your choices, click on the Filter button within the pop-in window, to reload the page according to your criteria.

Keywords position and evolution

Accout > Campaign

Rank

The rank displayed for each keyword is the last known rank over the date range. If for a specific analysis the search engine results page sends several results for your website, the result located at the uppermost position in the page (that is to say, which rank is the lowest) is taken into account.

If the keywords was not found within the search results for the last day of the range, or has not been checked yet:

  • If the keyword was not found among search results for the last day of the date range, we take into account the rank from the previous day, and so on, until the day following the first day of the date range.
  • If the keyword has not been found at all during the date range, a icon is displayed, indicating that the keyword is not ranked for the campaign's URL and search engine over the date range.

The same logic is followed to select the first rank of a keyword for a given date range, in order to measure keywords' rank evolution.

Evolution

The evolution compares the first rank of a keyword over a given date range with its last rank, and displays the difference between the two.

  • If the first rank is below the last rank, it means that the keyword has gone down in the search results. The evolution is colored in red and represented with a icon, including a positive number corresponding to the number of ranks lost.
  • If the first rank is above the last rank, it means that the keyword has gone up in the search results. The evolution is colored in green and represented with a icon, including a negative number corresponding to the number of ranks won.
  • If the first rank is the same as the last rank, the evolution is colored in yellow and represented with a icon.
  • If the first rank is not found and the last rank is found, the keyword has recently come in the search results. The evolution is represented with a icon.
  • If the first rank is found and the last rank is not found, the keyword has recently gone out of the search results. The evolution is represented with a icon.

Charts

Accout > Campaign

The ranks chart displays day after day the rank of one or several keywords over a date range.

The Chart button is disabled by default. To activate it, select the keywords to display on the chart. Then click on the button. A pop-in window is displayed and the graph is drawn on screen. From there you can export the chart as image, with the Image button, located at the top left of the screen.

You can display up to 10 keywords on the same chart, and go back up to 90 days in the past.

Ranks table

Accout > Campaign

The ranks table can be reached from the Ranks tab. It shows the daily ranks of keywords listed on page and for the selected date range.

Thus, for each line of the table:

  • If the rank is below the previous rank, the cell is colored in green, indicating that the keyword has won ranks.
  • If the rank is above the previous rank, the cell is colored in red, indicating the the keyword has lost ranks.
  • In all other cases the cell is colored in yellow.

White label

  • Generate report as white label: if checked, this setting allows you to overwrite the link to SerpCat located in the document header by replacing it with your organization's name and logo. If this box is not checked, SerpCat's name and logo will be displayed by default.

You can check a keyword up to three times a day. In this case, if the keyword is already ranked for today, the rank will be overwritten by the new value, in the case that the check is successful.

Due to anti-scrapping measures taken by search engines, a manual check might not be successful. If you encounter such a case, repeat the process once more.

Account > Campaign

The search volume and CPC attributes are only displayed alongside with keywords that have been added to a campaign associated with a Google search engine. They are checked once when a keyword (or a keyword suggestion) is added to a campaign, then checked automatically once a month.

  • Search Volume: gives the number of exact searches performed daily on the associated search engine.
  • CPC: is the abbreviation of "cost-per-clic". CPC gives the average price on Google Adwords for the exact keyword. Moreover, it allows to deduct the competition level for that keyword.

These two indicators are included in the keywords suggestions as well, in order for you to better define whether they are interesting or not.

    • Enterprise
    • Agency
  • The billing cycle

    • Yearly

The plan gives access to a given amount of software usage, whereas the billing cycle defines the recurrence of billing and the amount billed at the beginning of each cycle (the prices include taxes).

Number of competitors per campaign 10 20 50

All features are included in each of these plans.

The recycle bin allows you to restore entities deleted by mistake within your account.

Entities in the recycle bin are stored for a maximum time frame of 90 days. After that, they will be deleted forever from the application. You may empty the recycle bin without having to wait the end of that time frame.

To get a better visibility on the recycle bin, you can filter it:

  • by entity
  • by date

Moreover, when you delete an entity such as a campaign, entities associated with it are sent to the recycle bin as well. They become restorable once the campaign has been restored.

Ranks associated with keywords or competitors are restored with their parent entity.

Entities such as campaigns, keywords and competitors that are sent to the recycling bin stop from being counted in your account limits. If you restore them they will count again. Moreover, if the number of entities you are restoring goes up the limit, the restoration stops when their number can't be increased anymore without going above the limits.
